Can you remember a time in your life when you shared a dream with someone else and they tried to dissuade you and told you about all the risks and reasons why you would fail. They came up with a million reasons why you would fail, how impossible your dream was and then proceeded to fill your head with their insecurities. The way to succeed is to explore, examine and get feedback from your environment before rushing into any new venture. The challenge is to know when the information you receive is of value and will serve you and when it is just negative regurgitated information from negative people who dont want to see you succeed.
Whenever you notice something that annoys you, frustrates you, makes you angry or even makes you excited about another person, ask yourself where you do it in your own life. Although you may not like what you see, the other person is probably a mirror.
When we spend time in examination, rooting out our sin, confessing it, and repenting of it, it builds a strong sense of humility. Clothed with humility, we can indeed help take the specks out of other peoples eyes because we admit how many planks we have to deal with ourselves. People can accept help from someone who admits their sin and weakness much more readily than they can accept help from a self-proclaimed supersaint. Humility is the antithesis of hypocrisy. Humility is the foundation of church unity.
